Illamasqua Review

This is the first post in my series of makeup brands I adore. Each week I will be showcasing a brand and my top three products from their range.
I thought it would be most appropriate to start with my all time favourite makeup brand, Illamasqua.

A little about the brand,
Illamasqua is still such a young brand, at the tender age of  eight but for me they outshine their older peers with their constant flow of new gaming changing products and some of the most creative advertisements I have ever seen. If you ever have the pleasure of making it into their stores or concessions do, your be in for a treat!

So without further ado, here is my three top picks from the brand.
Illamasqua Skinbase Foundation

1 - Skin Base, this foundation is my favourite of all time and I don't say that often. It provides the most gorgeous coverage that leaves the skin flawless and dewy. It provides fantastic coverage without looking caking and with 26 different shades that start from white, you're bound to find the correct colour for you.
Illamasqua have also just released some skin base mixers to compliment this foundation, meaning that if you need to slightly adjust the undertones of your foundation you can, of if you simply need to brighten your skin up or conceal redness these will do the job for you.

Illamasqua Skin Base £32.50

Illamasqua Skin Base Mixers £26

Illamasqua Blushers

2 - Cream Blusher, I love a cream blusher as i think they look more natural and almost like they are radiating out of the skin instead of sitting on top of it like a powder. The Illamasqua cream blushers blend beautifully so you don't have to worry about patchiness, they last all day and can double up as a lipstick! I found this out when at my last makeup exam I had forgot to bring my lipsticks with me, cue a massive panic and flapping before I remembered that I had these blushers in my kit! Phew!

Illamasqua Cream Blushers £22

Illamasqua Brow Gel

3 - Brow And Lash Gel, I have flirted with other brands over the years but nothing compares to my beloved Illamasqua brow and lash gel. This sets your eyebrows like rocks, but at the same time they manage to still look natural. The brush separates every single brow hair to give you that full look with minimal effort. I cannot live without this product and I'm so worried they may discontinue it that I always purchase two at a time!

Illamasqua Brow And Lash  Gel  £12.50

This is a great brand for artists and makeup lovers alike, they offer PRO discount for artists and 15% off for makeup lovers on their birthdays, all that with free UK delivery and great customer service makes this brand one of the best in my opinion.

  1. Illamasqua is a brand I always want to try, but after buying one of their face palettes and never ever using it (I gave it to a friend who uses it religiously, though) I just haven't gone back and bought anything else. I've heard a few bits and pieces about the brand here and there but they never really get mentioned too much. I'll have to go and pick something up when I'm near a counter, maybe the skin base!

  4. I've never tried this brand myself but I've heard so many good things about it. Is 8 a young brand? I think it's a pretty established one!

    1. If you compare it to say the MACs of the world, Estee Lauder, Chanel etc who its pretty on par with and who have been around for decades, then yes I would class this as a young brand. But its no bad thing, they are up there with the big greats after such a small amount of time, its pretty impressive x

  5. I haven't tried much from Illamasqua, but the few things I have picked up I've been really impressed with! I'm definitely going to put the skin base & cream blusher on my wish list. Xx
