Cleaning makeup brushes is one of them tedious chores that has to be done. There is no getting out of it as bacteria and patchy makeup application make that very clear.
So anthing that can make the task more appealing is definitely worth discussing in my opinion. Japonesque balm cleanser is one of these things, its definitely more on the luxury side (who am I kidding, it massively is!) but if your brushes are expensive or you want to take real good care of them then this is a real treat.
Being that its a solid balm this makes it great for traveling with, No nasty spillages will be ecuring with this chap.
The smell! It smells just like coconuts which transfers slightly to your brushes. Don't be put off by this as its not overwhelming at all, its just a slight scent and personally if someone was using makeup brushes on me and they smelt slightly of coconut I know I would be pleased!
It leaves your brushes super soft. This is such a lovely conditioning cleanser that my brushes actually felt softer then when I first purchased them!
It works equally as well on both synthetic and real hair brushes. And believe me it works amazingly well. A couple of water activated swipes around this pot and your brushes are looking sparkling and fresh.
The price, at £16 I'm scared to use it! I have decided to only use my real hair brushes in this balm as I feel they benefit the most from it, and to be honest baby shampoo works fine on my synthetic ones. Just like I do for my hair, I want to treat my real hair brushes a little bit kinda, so ill be saving this for them.
Its not great for larger brushes. The pot isn't massive so trying to sweep my large foundation brush around in it wasn't the easiest and I did have to give up. Meh.
So all in all, this is a great brush cleaner if you have expensive brushes you want to keep in perfect condition, Japonesque make some of the most beautiful brushes, and there brush cleaner is no different, they really know what they are doing.
