MAC review

MAC Cosmetics

It would be really rude of me to not write about MAC in my brands review even though I'm sure everyone owns at least one piece of MAC or is very aware of the brand. They are a powerhouse that cannot be escaped.
I'm not going to blither on to much but I thought I would give you a couple of little MAC facts before I continue on with my three favorite products from the brand, that could be helpful to you.

Back To MAC - Collect five empty makeup products from them (they must be the plastic kind, including the eyelash cases) and when you take them back to MAC you will receive a free lipstick, YAY!

They continue to help support training makeup artists and professional makeup artists though there pro scheme which could get you 35% off, it's definitely worth a check. You can read more here on their site.

Now on to my must haves!

MAC Face and Body foundation

MAC Face and Body -
This is one of my most used foundations ever, professionally and personally. The amount of times this has saved me on a night out when I want to get my legs out, or on a shoot where a model has strange marks on her bottom (it's always best not to ask). It photographs beautifully and evens out the tone of tone skin.
On the face this is perfect for someone who has fairly good skin, as it doesn't add a lot of coverage, and wants their own skin to shine through as well as looking polished still. This gives the most natural glow and I couldn't be without it now.

MAC Lip Pencils

Lip Pencils -
I have always loved their lip pencils, I may even go as far as saying for me personally, they are the best. Don't be put off because they seem to be the in thing right now, I know hype can sometimes make people wary of a product, these are worth the look.
Apart from Subculture. Thats one is dire. No pigmentation what so ever and is scratchy. Has anyone else found this?

MAC Pigments

Pigments -
Pigments are great fun. I know they can seem a little scary but I promise you they are not. I love these as the pigmentation payoff is so intense and they can be used everywhere and anywhere. The trick with them is to pop a cream base down first (so they have something to stick to) then pat on. No wiping. Just pat.
My favorite is vanilla, it makes the most amazing highlight and its easily one of the most wearable shades.

  6. My number one favorite by MAC is the Blot pressed powder. I've tried a few others, but really nothing is as good to control shine. And it doesn't dry out my skin either!
Then their lipsticks, there are so many great colors, and compared to department store brands, they're quite affordable. Dubonnet is a favorite of mine. I also like their Cremesheen Glass formula. Very pretty glosses, most have "milky" effect, and they're not too sticky, unlike the infamous Lipglass!
To be honest I've never been very impressed with their eyeshadows. There are formulas out there that offer a lot more pigmentation and blendability, in my opinion.
