My Summer Essentials
With the seasons changing and the weather growing warming, my skincare and makeup have a big change up, so I thought I would take you though some of my essentials for the Summer.
My lips become so dry in the Summer, so lipbalms become my most used beauty product in the summer. I love my Kiehl's lip balm, which creates a nice barrier on mu lips, I'm currently on the lookout for a good lip balm with SPF in, so if anyone has any recommendations please let me know!
Who really has time for over complicated eye looks in the Summer? I love to just scribble a bit of eyeliner onto my lower waterline and smudge some along the top of my upper lashes. Team this with a bit of mascara and a bright lip and you're set to go! I Love this look with fresh skin,.
Bright lips in the Summer is a must for me, MAC's Lady Danger is my ultimate summer lippie. It is a matte, so your lips have to be super hydrated but this orange/red colour really helps to bring out the blue in my eyes, and when you offset it against a tan its just simply stunning.
Surf sprays are the way to go for me. I love the wavy texture they give and hey are as simple as spray and go. My one right now is the John Freda surf spray, I don't find this to be to sticky, but beware that if you overstay you hair can go slightly more crispy.
I love to change up my scents in the Summer months to something a bit more fresher and less heavy. Some of my faves are
Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede, this is one of a few fragrances that last all day on me!
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess, its just a holiday in a body. This doesnt last as long on the skin but its just beautiful.
Creed Virgin Island Water, this is definitely more of a higher price point but the vanilla/coconut scent is just intoxicating!
I love to use a gradual tanner in between tanning, as i'm quite lazy with tanning in general even though I love the effect. So using a gradual tanner helps keep my tan looking topped up in and also keeps the costs down, as tanning all the time can end up bad for the purse strings.
I've used Dove gradual tanner for years, it does have the typical fake tan smell but I quite enjoy it.
Nothing beats a good body oil, my skin is always dry, especially with all the fake tanning, and this just helps to add moisture when needed and also adds a lovely sheen. I have been using Nuxes body oil which I got free with a beauty box, its absorbs fast and leaves a devine scent on the skin. I'm soon to be purchasing the full sized product!
This may be the last but its certainly the most important. My skin is so fair and I frequently suffer from heat bumps (GRR), they only thing I have found to keep them away and my skin protected is the Piz Buin Sensitive suncream. I wrote a review about this a few years ago here.
