The Aldi Jo Malone £4 Candle Dupe

aldi jo malone candles

I’m by no means a candle connoisseur but I think it's fair to say that after owning approximately 143,604,00 candles I like to think that I know the difference between a good candle and a bad one.

Jo Malone candles for me, are the ultimate luxe home scent. I dont think my nose has ever sniffed one that it doesn't like, and even unlit in a room they manage to overpower the most common (AHEM!) home odours, which include my ginger cat and his bad guts, a discarded gym bag (not mine) which I'm scared to look in, and a leftover fillet of fish (again not me) that some clever clogs has decided to put in the bin. Unwrapped. GAG

I have owned a few of Miss Malones candles in my time and as much as I will always sing their praises, I cannot help but suffer from twitchy eyes every time I light them, I'm literally watching a obscene amount of my money go up in smoke. Twitchy, watery eyes at that.
Therefore Jo Malone candles are only to be lit in my house hold if all requirements are met IE royalty/mother-in-law visit.

So you can only imagine my utter delight/excitement/swooning when Aldi, the cheaper than chips food store that I frequently get confused in, (just me? I never understand the pricing) have released their own limited edition candles that are fragrance with the same scents like our very own Mrs Malones.

Now while I'm not convinced that they are exactly the same as the more luxurious brand, they are a damn good dupe.
And the best bit? They actually kick out a hell of a smell!
Freesia Pear scented my office so heavily that I had to blow it out after a hour.
Never before have I been so excited about stinking out a room!

The burn time on these, is probably not going to be as long lasting as Jo Malone's, but for the four pound your paying (oh, did I forget to mention they are FOUR POUNDS!!!!) I dont see any room for complaints.

There are three different fragrances to choose from
NO 1Lime Basil and Mandarin
NO2 Freesia Pear and
NO3 (my personal fave) Pomegranate Noir  .
These have already sold out on the website, and I believe the stores only have limited stock available!
I'm back off to Aldi to buy more!

  1. OMG these look amazing! I've never indulged in a Jo Malone candle because I can't justify the money but these look like great dupes! Thank you for bringing them to my attention!

  5. I love affordable candles! I too am a big fan of Jo Malone and of course, Yankee Candles, but they are just so overpriced and like you said, it's literally like watching your hard-earned money go up in smoke! I love that there are such affordable alternatives out there, I haven't tried this particular brand before, but I definitely will! <3 Thank you for sharing; hope that you have the best weekend ahead, beauty! <3 xoxo
