Getting Fit With Fitbit Blaze

Fitbit

I'm so late to the party with this one (living under them rocks again) but let's talk Fitbit.
If you haven't been living under a rock with said self, then you should know these flashy bands upon people’s wrists are a great aid into keeping/getting fit.

But, if you have been sharing the same rock as me then here's a quick bullet point list to give you the overall purpose of the Fitbit:

  • By day it records and tracks the steps you take, the distance you travel and the number of calories burned.
  • By night it records and monitors your sleeping pattern as well as the quality of sleep you experience and all records and reports are stored on your laptop or as I do, using the nifty little App.

I have the Fitbit Blaze which does all the same great stuff as the original Fitbit but more, such as:

  • Reminders to move, Blaze prompts you to walk 250 steps every hour with its nifty reminders.
  • Blaze uses SmartTrack to automatically recognize and record exercises for you, so you’ll get credit for a workout even if you forget to log it (like me!)
  • Linking your Android/iPhone up to Blaze

Working nine to five often means that I'm sitting on my behind for a lot longer than I would like to admit, but with my Blaze on my case reminding me to get my 250 steps in every hour, I have found that I'm making much more of a conscious effort to move around.
Yay for me!
After all, my step count that I'm aiming for is 10,000+ a day.

The Blaze also gives you not only the ability to control your music directly from your wrist, but you can also push your notifications straight to it too. This is a handy function for when you’re out and about, and have your phone tucked deep down inside of your bag. This option can be turned off though if you don't want to be disturbed whilst you go about your day.

On top of all of this, it also gives you the option to record a food diary (you can link it up with My Fitness Pal), keeps track of your hydration levels AND (one of my favorite parts) act as your alarm. You can set your Fitbit Blaze to wake you each day by quietly vibrating on your wrist.
If you're like me and hate being woken up by the sound of noise, then this is an absolute godsend. It is also a great little function for if you need to awaken earlier than your partner, your definitely get yourself some plus points.

The Fitbit Blaze is a great little bit of kit if you're new to the fitness industry or have been working out for years.
Having the app on my phone and checking it regularly has really helped to keep me motivated, and all the little extras it comes with are a great bonus.
It’s also super stylish, and I never say no to a bit of style.
